Background

History and background of The Telecommunications Association of Thailandunder the Royal Patronage: Because of the changes from the past to the present and the technological advances, telecommunications technology has become an imperative. And has taken a major role in the development of the country, especially for raising the living conditions of the people.

The Telecommunications Association of Thailand (TCT) was founded on September 14, 1990 by a group of people involved in the telecommunications industry from various sectors, including government, business, academia and the general public who all had the view that ttelecommunications is vital to economic development and the society. So they joined together to establish the Telecommunications Association of Thailand to jointly promote and develop telecommunications in Thailand, for making progress on a par with other civilized countries and to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology.

Throughout the period of operation under the Association's board of directors, every group of them has been committed to promoting professional career development in telecommunications and telecommunications services in all aspects, be it industrial, manufacturing, services and development of the country. This will directly affect the economic development of the country and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Thailand through the activities of the Association.

As time passes, the Association has been able to perform its activities well, with the support and cooperation of all members of the Association, including those from government agencies, state-owned companies, private enterprises and the general public. In order to promote the advances in telecommunications, particularly the policy of liberalization of the government’s telecommunications network, there have been open lectures organized with seminars to enhance the public’s knowledge of new technologies for the members and the general public. The exchange of ideas between members and academics, the government, and the private sector, includes suggestions for the government and other relevant agencies.
